Today, exactly 1 day shy of an entire year, I received a Fed X envelope, with one (1) check for $100 from Toshiba! Will wonders never cease?!? At least one person there did their job.
Un-FUCKING-believable! An entire year to get my rebate!
I must have missed the small print on the rebate form that said Please allow six weeks to one year for rebate check".:rolleyes::mad:
I am inclined to agree. Every single time I’ve ever bought anything that offered a mail-in rebate, they insisted I send the original receipt – no photocopies.
And every single time, whoopsie, they claim they never received it, musta been lost in the mail, too bad, so sad.
Now, I have made the mental adjustment. Whenever I see a product that offers a rebate, I accept it the same way I accept promises made by politicians running for reelection – it would be nice to benefit from it, but don’t count on anything, and don’t make the decision based on the promise!
Has anyone considered sending in rebate apps certified mail? It seems like it would be a small investment to pay to have proof that it was delivered correctly especially if you’re sending the original receipts.

Congrats on finally getting your rebate, pkbites. I was a bit nervous after reading this thread, since I just purchased a Toshiba notebook with a $150 rebate, but luckily they sent me a confirmation e-mail saying they got my rebate yesterday. I still have to wait for the check; hopefully it won’t take a year.
