Uncle cecil! [question about quantum physics, energy, and experience]

If quarks as I understand it are just a mathamatical way of describing energy,( we all know that there is nothing but energy bound into different states, right?)
Where does “it” (energy) bump up into what we call life or existance or experience?

Need to know quick Cecil!

Alan Watts is on another line and has me on hold.

Oh! Silly ME, playin hide and seek whith myself again!

GOD

Cecil doesn’t exist. But if you want Ed (or maybe even Una) to answer your question under the pseudonym of Cecil, then just email him. He will most certainly not reply to your MPSIMS thread.

Claude Remains: Cecil, like YHWH, is not an active deity. He isn’t going to respond to your thread directly but his spirit will inspire others to do so.

You question, as I understand it, is founded on philosophical dualism, or the idea that a soul, or essence, or qualia exists independently of the material world. The problem with this notion is that quarks are part of the Standard Model, which is part of particle physics, which is part of a positivist worldview that considers such dualism meaningless. In short, your question is founded on philosophically inconsistent premises and cannot be answered as posed.

I’m not sure there’s a General Questions answer to this instead of a Great Debates discussion, but let’s give it a try. I’ve also added more detail to the thread title.

The question makes no sense.

If it wasn’t for quarks your day-to-day life would be quite different. Instead of spending your morning pondering the nature of existence, you’d spend it quietly not existing.
