I don’t think this ever got answered (and I don’t know if yosemitebabe will ever see the answer here), but here goes:
Handel’s “Messiah” has many, many recorded versions. Since CDDB works by identifying each disc individually to identify the performance and artist on the tracks, and somebody has to enter all of that info in, chances are good that not every recording of the Messiah has been entered into the database. I run into the same problem with a great deal of classical CD’s. Many of them aren’t entered into the CDDB at all, and I would guess it’s because they don’t feel the effort is necessary to enter every performance of every popular classical piece into their database.
Just have to do it yourself.

I posted to explain to the guy why his thread was about to be closed, because I predicted (correctly) that he’d probably be less than fully satisfied with the explanation of whichever mod shut it down, and that he’d start a thread asking about it.
