When I saw the thumbnail of this image I though it was some kind of vegetable, perhaps a Brassica.
When viewing full it’s obviously a fruit.
Please can someone identify it for me.
Thanks.

Looks like annona – maybe Annona squamosa?.
A custard apple. An image search on custard apple will get you photos that look a lot closer to yours than the single image in the wikipedia article.
Appears to be a saramuyo a relative to the annona. That is what we call them in the Yucatan. They are my favorite fruit. Only available in April and May. Delicious!
Thank you. Ignorance Fought.
We’re all identifying it as from the genus Annona. I think harmonicamoon is correct about the species, though (sugar apple, or saramuyo, is Annona squamosa). The species naita mentioned has smoother fruit.

My favorite fruit too. It grows in the wilderness in India in the state I grew up in.
Very delicious and it has to be just the correct ripe to enjoy. Sort of like bananas - but bananas are ripened by ethylene nowadays, so I dont know maybe all fruits can be ripened (?)
