Unintentionally evil (if perhaps morbidly funny) things you've seen

Gettysburg PA has “Das Gift Haus” for tourists wanting a little Pennsylvania German culture thrown in with their Civil War history. It’s an unfortunate blending of languages since “Gift” is german for “Poison.”

I guess Foster Farms is mostly a west coast thing, but their tv ads are horrifying. These two Muppet-like chickens travel the west begging people to take them home, kill them and eat them. Some are worse than others.

The hospital Celtling was born in is on “Gallows Road.” Always makes me think of the quote from Mark Twain’s mother. When young Samuel Clemmons was brought home after having nearly drowned in a local creek, a neighbor asked her later why she’d been so calm through the whole episode. Her reply:

“People who are born to be hanged are safe from drowning.”

Re: dying animals, I give you Michelin’s horrifying dancing roadkill.

So stoked about joining this message board.

  • The guy who invented segways drove a segway off a cliff and died

  • When Romney said “business are people” I thought it was funny. But I didn’t start laughing until it occurred to me…

PEOPLE!!! BUSINESSES ARE PEEEEEOOOPLE!!! lol have yet to make appropriate viral gifs…

Unfortunately its pretty easy to go from funny to just plain morbid

Not sure if he was found guilty of vehicular manslaughter or not, lol…

He didn’t invent them. Jimi Heselden bought the company.

My favorite deli I visit when I am in Dallas is next door to “The Casket Store”. A couple of doors down from the casket store is “Boxes to Go”. In case you want to do things on the cheap, I guess.

The new bachelor-chow drink thing is called Soylent… idiots.

There’s a city named Savage in Minnesota (after the guy that owned Dan Patch), which leads to “Savage Barber”, “Savage High School”, etc.

NM.

There’s a middle school in Poteau, Oklahoma, named after some local hero. The name of the school: Pansy Kidd Middle School. What a bunch of pansies!

Shouldn’t he take his owner’s name? Dan Savage?

At a strip mall just outside of St Paul, MN, there was a sporting goods store next to a women’s clothing store. Sometimes in their windows you’d see juxtapositions like (I still have a photo of this) “HOUSE OF LARGE SIZES”/“TENTS! TENTS! TENTS! BIG SALE ON NOW!”

This isn’t morbid but I thought it was funny.
A guy in my town is a big Coca-Cola fanatic, and decorates his house and yard with all kinds of Coca-Cola-belia. The whole place is like a giant Coke ad.

Someone driving by donated an empty red and white 12 pack box and a few empty cans to his front yard, it really complimented the decor!

My kid goes to a high school whose mascot is the cougar. At any given event you will see dozens of T-shirts emblazoned with “Cougar Mom”. I find it amusing.

I’ve mentioned this before, but my wife’s first gynecologist was Dr. Hyman.

Cindi’s! I love that place. I live about 5 minutes away.

But yeah, “The Casket Store” has always fascinated and creeped me out in turns.

On that same line, I think match.com needs to rethink this commercial:

One of the student groups here has put up a bunch of posters advertising “a stage play geared toward making sex trafficking a reality in our community”

I am pretty sure they mean “raising awareness about sex trafficking,” but I did do a double take.
