unit hopping squatters from hell

OK, so you fucking lied on your application to rent the 2-bedroom condo in my building saying you were a single mom with 2 kids and promptly moved in 4 kids and 3 adults. Somehow you think it’s ok that your devil spawned imps from hell spent their time running around in the parking lot all day screaming, throwing balls, sticks and whatever else they have into the cars, digging up the landscaping and scraping the bark off the fucking trees while you stand there ignoring them while you hang your laundry all over the railings making the place look like a fucking hillbilly hotel.

It took two months for you to get evicted because of all the complaints and your not paying any fucking rent (and from the repo that took place late one night with you out there screaming and cursing the repo men and the cops you don’t pay any of your bills but still think you’re entitled to whatever you want – how the fuck you got a minivan a few days later is beyond me). When you finally left you stole the motherfucking dishwasher and refrigerator and left the stove in pieces! What the fuck was that for!? The people behind you, under you and next to you were happy to see you go figuring the noise and the goddamn cockroaches that were starting to infest the building would be done but no… you fucking managed to get into a 1 bedroom unit in the same fucking building!

4 more freaking months of the nightmare of your yelling, cursing, threatening neighbors who dared to say anything to you with physical harm, and an unbelievable number of cockroaches in all the surrounding units. At least you seemed to be down to 1 or 2 adults and only 2 or 3 kids (don’t know and don’t much care where you pawned off the others).

After multiple visits from the police for drugs, underage runaways and just general complaints your eviction was finally complete… of course not before we had cops here early morning breaking down your door and got to hear the kids cursing at the cops and showing just what future most wanted scum you are “raising” you ignorant, disgusting bitch. At least this time you left the appliances although it’s taken weeks to get the roaches under control and clean the shithole you left to a point where people can actually go inside without getting sick from the smell.

And now you’ve moved into another 2 bedroom unit in a nearby building and have multiple adults and a whole bitchload of obnoxious kids in and out of there and are driving those neighbors insane. You got yourself a pit bull and are threatening to get more for protection because you know everybody around you is disgusted and wants you gone.

What’s it like living in filth and being hated by everybody around you? Maybe you should have thought before having 11 fucking kids that you can’t take care of and not think you have the right to inflict them on others and steal and lie to maintain your pitiful existence instead of trying to get some actual help and maybe a better life for them.

You’re a nasty, lying sack of shit and why the fucking child protective services can’t fucking see that those kids are living in filth in a cockroach infested hellhole is beyond me. You need to be in prison for the frauds you’ve committed and your kids need to be taken from your hideous, slimy grasp before it’s too late for them.

Wow. That sucks. Nice pitting. I think what I might do is take a picture of her and put together a little package to share with every landlord in the vicinity.

Glad you’re rid of the scum. Onward.

Holy crap! Great post from a newbie!

I once had a guy living in the same complex as my family and me. He was a war vet who had developed schizophrenia as best I could tell. When he moved out (got evicted for not paying rent, I believe), it was a nightmare to clean his unit. (Hee hee, that sounds dirty).

I heard from the cleaning crew that all appliances had to be thrown out, new paint and carpet was a necessity, and the vacuum they used had to be thrown out. The place was overwhelmed with roaches like you couldn’t imagine, trash was left everywhere, and he even left dirty dished with rotting food stuck to them!

It’s a shame, because the guy was really sweet, especially to us kids, but totally off his rocker. We had no idea what was going on until I heard about how he left the place.

Thanks for reminding what I forgot to add… the motherless lawyers for the HOA say we can’t send anything to any resident or owner about the assholes. Wouldn’t want to be guilty of defamation of (lack of) character I guess and even the truth doesn’t seem to be an acceptable defense.

Would that it were but while they are out of my building they are still in the complex so I still see them around. It’s much better now since I’ve finally gotten rid of the insect roaches and no longer have to hear the human ones banging the walls, yelling and playing loud music but at the average of 3 months per rented unit and they way she lies to get into them it could be years and they could very well end up back in this building. It truly sucks since other than them this has been a pretty nice, quiet area and now quite a few long-term residents are planning to sell because of this bitch.

How is she able to continue renting in the same property where she gets evicted from?

I’d think that once the rental co. throws her out, they have the right to not have her back?

Oh, you know. You get used to it.

I’m guessing that this is a condo development where individual owners rent out their own units. I can’t imagine a single management company re-renting to these same people over and over again.

I wonder if one of the currently afflicted tenants could invite the owner or one of his agents over for coffee at a critical time of day? (As in, when they are most likely to be at their worst.) It’s a nice dream anyway. :frowning: Why do the lawyers say you can’t even contact the owner? (Or are they saying home owners, not the owner of the apartments? ) I’d research that, and find a way to get through a loophole. It isn’t slander if it can be proven with legal paperwork, maybe pointing out the police records would be a start?

We had just about the same tenant here about 5 years ago. We called her “the tenant from Hell”. She’d actually just dump her trash out her front door into the hallway.

The eviction procedings took months and thousands of $$, as she kept claiming to be a single mother, with a deadbeat abusive husband. However, that “abusive deadbeat ex” was living with her all along. Eeven though we had “incident reports” from the police noting that the "ex’ was there at the time of the call, and even that he was taken into custody from that address, the judges were reluctant to evict a “minority single mother”, who claimed an abusive ex. (Although he well could have been abusive also, they fought constantly, screaming- and she chased him down the hall with a frypan one day, so it’s not impossible he hit her also).

She bought a chain of nice new cars by getting friends in HR to lie about her job history, and giving a large downpayment check- which wasn’t any good. Of course, they would repo, but as she gave false addresses it took awhile. We started calling the dealers and telling them where she lived and where the cars were parked.

There are a few women like this- they live off the system, abusing everyone. The Courts don’t want to put a “mother” into jail, so they can get away with anything short of murder. Having one of them in your building is HELL.

I am reminded of the Jean Shepherd story about Delbert and the Bumpus Hounds.

FatBaldGuy nailed it; each unit is privately owned and rented either by the owner, or more commonly, by a hired property management company. Since they don’t communicate with each other and aren’t on the property they only have the info she provides to decide on the tenancy. She’s used multiple aliases so far so there’s just no way to cross-check it.

The owners of the other units are permitted by the association rules to get the name and address of the owner of the unit that The Tenant From Hell (hereinafter TTFH) is in if they have a specific, valid reason for doing so as judged by the board of directors for the association (which does use a generally low standard so that’s not a problem). They can complain to the current owner but that’s useless since (a) TTFH doesn’t care about complaints and just gets more abusive when they start and (b) by the time the complaints come in TTFH is already there and the eviction process has started and the owner can’t do anything else.

I got most of the info I have from my talking to the owners of the first 2 units she was in because as an owner here I got their info to talk to them about what was going on in their properties. The rest came from talking with other residents and comparing notes with what they’ve seen and heard.

What the lawyers won’t allow is the association formally notifying all the owners about the problem before they possibly rent to her. A general “don’t rent to this person” is verbotten. The association can impose fines on the owner for problems caused by TTFH but that brings us right back to (a) and (b) above.

It’s just extremely frustrating for everybody here who works hard to pay their bills and maintain a decent, quiet community to have it disrupted by somebody using the system and not giving a damn about anybody but her pathetic self and her miserable brood.

Apparently she just loves the neighborhood.

Now that is funny!

I work in rental property management, and we have a list of these people. We simply won’t do business with them, and ignore their threats to take us to court for “discrimination” when we refuse to rent to them.

If you can’t do it as a landlord, is there a possibilty that a tenant would take the cause up, “anonymously”?

If that failed, I’d just keep calling the cops on them every time they did something wrong.

Good luck.

Wow! You live near Terrell Owens twin sister? Think she can get me his autograph?

It’s bitches like this that make it impossible for me to go through the full body cavity search needed just to rent a house just because I have some credit problems. I swear - my utilities don’t get turned off, I am clean, I don’t steal and I have never been late on my rent. But enough people like this have burned landlords to the point where I can’t even get someone to let me finish a sentence if it’s started with “Do you take dogs?” or “My credit score is below 700.”

Could, say, a tenant of one of the other buildings send an anonymous note to the owners of all the units with the name(s) of this person, so they can all be warned about her? I’m pretty sure the owners of the units she’s been in aren’t any more impressed with her than the people living around her. Nothing official, you understand, just a private citizen trying to help out other private citizens.

I love to hear that people living like this have children. Good to know that this kind of behaviour isn’t going to die out any time soon. You have my sincerest wishes that this situation is resolved quickly in the best way possible for all involved, tbdi.

The rental management association we belong to has a list of evicted tenants. I have my own little list, too.

Why, oh, why do people not call for references? We do. We call current landlord and previous landlord. If no recent rental history, we call a personal reference. We call your boss and verify your employment. You’re on social services? Bring us some paperwork that proves it. We do a credit check. Sure, it’s a pain making the calls (especially since I make them) but they are vital! And yes, people do lie, and put down a friend as a reference, but a lot of the time, we can tell. And if they use a fake name, it doesn’t bode well for being able to confirm employment–or have the credit check come back. Then we call and see if they’re on the Evicted Tenants List.

I had this kind of tenant living next to me for a while. She was subletting out the second bedroom of her apartment to all kinds of crazy people who didn’t pay rent and brought in furniture off the streets. The upshot was that our building has had bedbugs since May. It’s been a living hell. I’m really hating on New York life right now…we really can’t afford to move. :frowning:
