Unrequited Loves

I’m writing a little poem thing and in it I make a list of unrequited loves. So far, though, I only have Romeo’s Rosalind and Charlie Brown’s Little Red-Haired Girl. Any other good ones out there that people will recognize?

Did Shakespeare ever make it clear whether Hamlet actually loved Ophelia back?

Didn’t Ophelia have the hots for Hamlet?

You could interpret it either way…

Cyrano and Roxane in Cyrano de Bergerac
The opera Carmen

There are more, I know, let me get my hands on them…

I’m having trouble remembering, but didn’t Hamlet argue with Ophelia’s brother in her grave over who loved her more? I think that in other parts of the play, Hamlet was just acting like her didn’t love her.

Roxanne? (and Cyrano, not the Police)

I just said that. :stuck_out_tongue:
