Some songs have a Longer than Always theme without mentioning rivers or mountains.
I’ll love you till the bluebells forget to bloom
I’ll love you till the clover has lost it’s perfume
I’ll love you till the poets run out of rhymes

Came here to make mention of that one. There’s a Burns Supper I almost always go to in Seattle every January where a choir sings Burns’ poems between courses, and their rendition of this one is my favorite of the lot.
It’s probably nothing like this, right?
Can’t believe it took 22 posts to get here. I’ve got this very same link lined up to go. This was remade within the last 15 years or so, no?
“I love thee, I love but thee,
With a love that cannot die,
Till the sun grows cold
And the stars are old
And the leaves in the Judgement-Book unfold!”
Bayard Taylor wrote the words back in the nineteenth century (“Bedouin Love Song”) and it was set to music by many minor Victorian-era composers.
“Dawn” surprise is what I hear, and what gets hits from the major lyric sites, and what ties into the song’s lyrical theme. (I also hear “seas”.)
^ VERY, very nice! Perfect start to my day. Thanks for sharing.
The Townshend-Lane version of “Till the Rivers All Run Dry” is a cover of Don Williams’ original. It’s pretty good, too.
“Daisy a Day” by Jud Strunk:
I’ll give you a daisy a day, dear;
I’ll give you a daisy a day.
I’ll love you until the rivers run still
And the four winds we know blow away.
Hate to say this, but would Feckless Eric’s “Whole Wide World” apply? (yeah - nose held)
The Who’s “I Can See For Miles”?
Fleetwood Mac - “Landslide”
Eurythmics - “Here Comes the Rain Again”
Prince - “Mountains”:
*But I say it’s only mountains and the sea
Love will conquer if u just believe (oh yeah)
It’s only mountains and the sea
There’s nothing greater, u and me
Once upon a time in a haystack of despair,
happiness sometimes hard 2 find. (yeah)
Africa divided, hijack in the air…*
Lyrics
Baby I’m yours (baby I’m yours)
And I’ll be yours until the stars fall from the sky
Yours until the rivers all run dry
In other words, until I die
Baby I’m yours (baby I’m yours)
And I’ll be yours until the sun no longer shines
Yours until the poets run out of rhyme
In other words, until the end of time
I’m gonna stay right here by your side
Do my best to keep you satisfied
Nothing in the world can drive me away
'Cause every day you’ll hear me say
Baby I’m yours
And I’ll be yours until two and two is three
Yours until the mountain crumbles to the sea
In other words, until eternity
Baby I’m yours
Till the stars fall from the sky
Baby I’m yours
Till the rivers all run dry
Baby I’m yours
Till the poets run out of rhyme
“Til the rivers all run dry
Til the sun falls from the sky
Til life on earth is through
I’ll be needing you”
Don Williams.
J. Blackfoot. Just One Lifetime
Just one lifetime of loving you honey won’t be long enough.
I’ll love you till all the rivers run dry, my love, and turn to dust.
A powerful soul tune that really hits you. But I can’t help but laugh at the line: *When father time take away your figga. *
As long as the sun shall glow
As long as the stream shall flow
As long as the wind shall blow
As long as the grass shall grow
This land, this land shall be Indanee
—“Indian Prayer”

See posts 22 and 25 and you are not supposed to quote the whole song. As you probably already know.
I always heard it as “my dose of pride”. Oh well.
Tried to edit but it kept timing out. Oh well.
If a State counts…
“And if California slides into the ocean,
Like the mystics and statistics say it will,
I predict this motel will be standing,
Until I pay my bill.”
It’s not about love, But hey, it’s Warren Zevon. Be grateful there isn’t a gun or a corpse in the song.
