My wife just bought a 2019 Toyota RAV 4 hybrid. The car has a posted speed limit indicator on the center display. It does this with a camera and not GPS. I’ve had sat/nav that does this in cars and it’s useful enough. It will frequently tell you when you are speeding via changing color or making a noise.
However, using a camera to capture a real-time sign and then display a replica of that on the dash seems so…analog I guess. We just got the car and I haven’t had a chance to test it very much.
It seemsthe tech has been around since 2008.
