I kinda like that “rule” (if there is one).

Here’s an example.

Someone writes an OP in the Pit complaining about his company and the cops for picking on him after he punched some guy out.

On the Dope, the responses would largely be. . . serves you right for punching someone out.

On other message boards I’ve been on, the response might be. . . oh, what a bummer that life is so unfair!

I like the fact that people here hold others responsible for their behaviors and for the inconsistency of their statements.

I’m really surprised no one mentioned the obvious—she wasn’t lesbian and had no interest in you, and made the story up to “spare your feelings”.

Not quite the best example requested in the OP. That rule’s been written numerous times.
