Update on Gassing victims

I recently read an article online and did a quick search on “gas mask you can sleep in”, which lead me to a forum thread on this site:

Which, was a few board members ridiculing people for being paranoid about the possibilities of being gassed and robbed; calling it ridiculous and then going into armchair speculation on their idea of physics.

I appreciate skepticism and all, however, in the past five years, especially with the freedom of information act, there has been plenty of evidence coming to light of weaponized chemicals that are active in the microgram levels being made by the top drug manufacturers for our own government. Things that are anything from anesthetics used on detainees that cause confusion to directives of pcp used in protest situations to cause protesters to riot and panic.

The forum post seemed to be centered on what “news” reports were saying instead of people just doing simple searches online or through information clearing houses that store FOIA requests- so most people said hogwash to the whole thing.

Recently there has been an update to a case of Mennonites being gassed and rapped in Bolivia by their own people. Simple concoctions of veterinary anesthetics for cattle (sic) being leaked out into house and the victims not having stuff stolen from them but actually hogtied to beds, molested and even raped.

Here is one of the articles on “The Ghost Rapes of Bolivia”:

Apperntly there is even a documentry coming out on the subject.

I guess the whole reason I joined was, even if one person is worried about their personal safety, while being skeptical not to cause “the herd” to panic, there might be a shilling of truth to the cow screaming rattle snake in the grass and updating those people who were initially concerned about the possibility despite others “claims”. Someone could hurt you without you knowing it but the headache you wake up with the next day. I just wanted to make sure the people who were in fact worried about this being real did indeed find out it is in fact going on.

These were very simple Mennonites in a third world country. So the odds of it happening, I would say, are more factual then “just an urban myth”. No AC introduction, it was just under the door; they didn’t just quickly rummage through the house and leave but tied people up, raped them, untied them and let themselves out, and sometimes it was groups not just one person.

I think it’s scary, maybe you don’t- but it’s has indeed been confirmed on at least one scale.

I just think the whole idea of changes in cognitive perception are a HUGE gaping hole in the argument on freedom because everything we ingest, both physically and mentally, is altering our perception of reality and most of the time, in the case of “the herd”, with out them even knowing what is happening to them.

Honestly, I want to be proven wrong with “The Straight Dope” on this subject, it’s not going to make me sleep better (as if I still did that), but it would be nice to know that I’ just being paranoid as usual.

This form is for asking questions that have a “factual” answer. I think you are looking for more than that so I pinged a mod to move this thread to where you might obtain the help you need.

Of course there are weaponized chemicals which are effective in extremely small quantities. What does that have to do with purported “gas robbings”? The people who claim to have been gassed are, invariably, alive, and therefore have not been subject to such weaponized chemicals.

In the truck driving community of Europe there have been a number of claims that a driver woke up in the morning, after a night in his truck, with a bad head and all his valuables missing. These reports are widely dismissed as excuses after too much alcohol, and/or for losing their money in some way.

I have seen detailed explanations of how hard it would be to gas someone in a truck, so never mind how you would do it in a house.

Could you expand on this part please?

The only people who believe in these types of gassings are those that don’t understand how anesthesia works. People tend to think of anesthesia as “substances that put you to sleep” but the reality is that those substances are shutting down parts of your central nervous system. In uncontrolled doses they are usually fatal. The key to making anesthesia work is that you have to give the person just enough of the chemical to make them go unconscious, but not enough to kill them, and that is a very fine line. Anesthesiologists use precise tables based on the patient’s weight and other factors to figure out exactly how much to use, and even then they monitor you closely to make sure they’ve got it right. They aren’t just giving you some random amount of gas so that you pass out. You may think that it’s as simple as here, take a couple of puffs from this mask and out you go, but it’s not.

If you tried to gas someone like this in the real world, you would find that one of two things would happen. Either the gas wouldn’t work because you didn’t give them enough, or they would die. Hitting that sweet spot right in the middle where the chemicals render you unconscious but don’t kill you is so difficult that you just aren’t going to be able to manage it under those types of conditions.

If anesthesia worked as simply as people who believe in gassing thinks it does, we wouldn’t need highly trained anesthesiologists in operating rooms. There’s a reason that someone with a heck of a lot of training is constantly monitoring you while you’re put under. Anesthesia isn’t anywhere near that simple.

I think the OP’s main point was the story he linked to in which nine people confessed to using gas to drug entire families in their homes then rape them. The confessions were apparently recanted, but the men went to prison, as did the veterinarian who supplied the gas. There were 130 official victims. Unfortunately, the article doesn’t have many more details about the trial or gassing. Someone might be able to google-fu more info, but this took place in a Mennonite community in Bolivia so maybe not.

They sell aerosol cans of ether for use as a starting fluid at most truck stops and auto stores. It’s not difficult for me to imagine if someone found a truck with a vent or window open to empty a can or two into the cab, wait a while, then pound on the door. If the driver doesn’t wake up, they could break in and take what they want.

Since there will be quite a few personal opinions here, let’s move from

general Questions to IMHO—where you can still get factual info.
