Update on the Ralphie question

Not trying to convince anyone of anything, but just wanted to share this with people already facing this particular decision (should this be in IMHO?).

Apparently some rich guy is going to pay for ads in non-swing-states to let people know whether it’s safe to vote for Nader (places where either Bush OR Gore is obviously going to win by a safe margin, and a few for Ralph won’t make a difference). Apparently it is NOT safe in Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, Michigan, Missouri, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon and Washington (places where, yes, it will probably affect the outcome, if you know what I mean and I think you do). Everywhere else they are trying to get the numbers for the 5%. Interesting.

A short article on this at:

M.K., I didn’t realize that I had been unclear. Of course it’s safe to vote for me. A vote for Ralf is never wasted.

And who is this Nader fellow you mentioned? Some Ralf-wannabe, no doubt, trying to ride into office on my coattails? :stuck_out_tongue:

I actually met Mr. Nader once about 1979. He was speaking at the college I was attending, and his NYC office was given the phone # of the office I worked in as the place to call if they needed to contact him. They did, and I took the message to Mr. Nader himself. He was to call back to NYC some time that night. It wasn’t urgent, but they did need to talk to him.
