Upkeep on Shackleton's hut?

The June issue of Smithsonian magazine has a 1 page piece on Ernest Shackleton’s hut in the Antarctic in which he and his men survived the winter of 1908. The shelves are still stocked and everything appears in perfect condition and neatly in its place. Yet they quote Shackleton himself: “During our first severe blizzard, the hut shook and trembled so that every moment we expected the whole thing to carry away.”
What’s the story on the hut and contents? It looks too perfect, as if there has been not just upkeep, but actual restoration work.

It’s been restored more than once. The first time was in 1961 and the most recent was 2008.

Proof, yet again, that there’s a Wiki article for just about every damned thing in the world, and off it, too: Cape Royds - Wikipedia
