The final 4 episodes were just okay. It felt like they had to cram all of their remaining ideas into a small number of episodes, so it rushed from one plot point to the next without much time to expand on the premise. There were a few funny parts and the ending was more or less satisfying, so I’d rather have that than just ending the show on a cliffhanger.
Wow, didn’t know they planned to wrap it all up. We’ll have to watch it over the weekend.
We finished up last night. They did an OK job tying up all the storylines with a few exceptions. The evil AI was probably added due to current events but I found that to be a pretty nice story. Especially the red headed AIs, I love them.
Luke got shafted, he and Aleesha would have been cute together.
RealNathan’s death was completely cheapened by the end reveal. Why wouldn’t Luke also have a backup somewhere?
I just noticed the other day that the actor is Greg Daniels’s son. Nepo baby! (But seriously, he did a great job.)
I had no idea they were only getting 4 episodes so I kept thinking “this seems awfully rushed.”
There was a bit of mean-spiritedness to the characters now in their reaction to things that I found off-putting at times. Clearly the Tinsley plot was one that got cut short probably as early as season 3…but people seemed to hate her and then not give two shits when she’s murdered infront of them in the office?
And I think a few other deaths that characters seemed to just not care about and the way they treated Ivan…who didn’t he actually save them or help them more than once in the series? That’s fine for the villains to be such dicks, but for our protagonists to now be incredibly cold or mean, it was weird.
I think the ring-drive thing at the end was predictable but also I think they wisely left it open–I do not think Nora would do anything with it….even if she was curious I think she would see that the files are just his memories of her…not him as a person.
I am really curious how Lakeview became a nonprofit…perhaps NY AI Guy did benevolent AI overlord thing and wrestled control away from Horizon.
Overall, I did really enjoy this season and the series I think is an underrated gem. Even in its short run and time–I think it said a lot about our present and our future.
