Upper limit on setting bail?

I see where Robert Blake was denied bail. Is there a law that limits the amount bail a judge can set? Let’s say a judge is really pissed off and wants to set bail at $100,000,000. Can he do that? What are the paramaters of setting bail?

The Constitution says something like “excessive bail” cannot be required. I’d think a lawyer would say that $100,000,000 is excessive and thus unconstitutional.

Of course, what is excessive can be debated. However the Constitution does not require bail, so to avoid problems, bail is not set for some cases.
