I once heard a story about a beer that was brewed with an ingredient that helped to treat a local (genetic) disease.
The ingredient was unspecified, the disease, if named, was not retained. Here is all I remember:
Was probably in the UK.
The beer might have the word Spring in the name.
It may have been a wheat beer.
Only 18 people in the world had the disease.
The ingredient helped ease the symptoms.
Was possibly brewed by monks.
OK, there we have a lot of ifs, maybes and misremembered things. I can’t find anything at all online regarding this. I’m starting to think I may have dreamed it. (This isn’t too far fetched, I dream some weird stuff.) Anyone know anything at all about this?
