Not sure, but a schoolfriend’s father invented Vienetta. He worked for Walls. The local paper once did a feature on him as someone with a “dream” job - the headline was:

“It’s a n-ice one, Kevin!”

Schoolfriend never lived it down.

istara: Scrapple is basically spicy square sausage. The homemade kind would be any kind of pork scraps (hence the name) plus filler and seasoning. Commercially-made scrapple lists specific pork parts that are used. It’s all ground up together and shaped into a small loaf.
