I just wanted to congratulate a guy I occassionally ran with. Trent Briney ran an outstanding 2:12:35 at today’s marathon trials and placed fourth. This was only his second marathon, and more than 8 minutes faster than his previous race. He was about 20 seconds behind Dan Brown in a very close race. (Alan Culpepper won, BTW, and a total of three guys made it this time. Only one made it last time.) He’s a good guy and deserving of all accolades he can get. Frankly, he deserves all the running groupies who can get, but then, there aren’t any.
