The ones making that article once again prop up the ACORN boogeyman.

As it happens one of the former employees of ACORN dismissed thanks to the misleading reporting by O’keefe and Breitbart sued them and they had to settle out of court because free speech does not give anyone the right to defame others or to cause them to lose their jobs. So every time ACORN is mentioned as a continuing boogeyman (When they were already disbanded thanks to the efforts of the right wing) this has to be mentioned:

Less well known is how the American Legislative Exchange Council helped in the larger campaign to take down ACORN.

O’Keefe is paying the $100,000 to settle a lawsuit filed by Juan Carlos Vera, a former employee of ACORN (which stands for Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). The lawsuit alleged that O’Keefe and his associate filmed Vera in the San Diego ACORN offices without his consent, a violation of California law, and portrayed him untruthfully. The video was later heavily edited and published on conservative mega-blog Breitbart.com, making it appear that Vera had conspired with O’Keefe to smuggle underage girls across the Mexican border, when in fact Vera had immediately contacted the police after O’Keefe left his office.

The main point here is that many like you are manipulated and are never curious to see why that was that done. Maybe those sources you rely on should not be consulted anymore as they only mislead you and many others.

Maybe the information travels very slow in the right wing media sphere.

The question is should a low level tech be able to make unilateral decisions as to what should and should not be classified by the government. Whether or not the content of the whistleblowing should or should not have been eventually made public, given the way it was released, not going after Snowden would set a bad precedent.
The next “whistleblower” could decide that our clandestine support of Muslims is treasonous, and so it is his Christian duty to reveal the names and addresses of all of our agents in Syria.
