Yes, snap to it. And stop that goddamned whistling!
No way! You promised you’d come over and help me pont the house!
I may be wrong, but it seems to me that no one is understanding the point the OP is trying (albeit weakly) to make.
We should be abhorred that the mainstream media is reporting that the US has conducted a “massive bombing campaign” and expects us to think that this is a good thing.
Considering that this campaign will kill hundreds or thousands of people, wreck many square miles of infrastructure, destroy plants and animals, all to further the position of an illegal invader, should be not be outraged?
The US should not wonder why the world hates it, when its citizens can’t understand why “US conducts a massive bombing campaign” is bad PR.
I can honestly state that I am very much abhorred. Not sure it has anything to do with the war, though.
Uh, what?
Does anybody still believe the “news”?
Not when it’s good news. Bad news, from any source, is eminently believable.
Good lord I’m an idiot. Yes, send your ponts over and i’ll sew them right up.
Maybe its good news, but it damned sure is amazing news. What astonishing intelligence! We knew exactly where the weapons and explosives were stashed! Precisely! So that we could drop a bomb right on the spot, a bomb just big enough to obliterate the target, but not so big as to involve collatteral damage. A little hard to prove, of course. Trust us. When have we ever lied to you?
And, apparently, our enemies had isolated themselves from the civilian propulation. You’d think they’d notice, wouldn’t you, you’d think they’d look up and see that there was nobody around but them, all the civilians, all the women and children had skeedaddled. Remarkable. Incredible, in the truest sense of the word.
What happens when the last foreign AlQ fighter is dead? Do the Sunni and Shia fling themselves into each others arms, blubbering promises of eternal friendship and comity?
Why ? If Iraq war and the run up to it shows anything, it’s that the majority of the American news media are a collection of liars or fools. And pretty much worthless, at best. I barely pay attention to the mainstream American media anymore; it’s become a collection or corporate spam and the American version of Pravda.
As you know so much about this subject why dont you pop out to Iraq and tell the victims your opinion?
Which victims? The victims of Al Queda, or ours?
As someone who regularly chooses to distort anything other may say about this conflict, I say to you suck it up.
What I was alluding to, is that you arbitrarily dismiss anything positive, but of course embrace anything that supports your anti-US, anti-Military position. Kind of silly, no?
Unless you intended this statement to be a confession, I think you may have inadvertently stumbled into one of those dangerous grammar pitfalls our teachers warned us about.
I suspect the the Iraqis have had quite enough foreign “help” by now. He/she’d probably just get shot, regardless of intentions.
I have no interest in “sucking up” the lies of subhuman, warmongering vermin. If warmongers don’t like the fact that I refuse to accept the holiness of their cause, tough for them.
Given that they are proven liars, not at all. They should be assumed to be lying about anything that makes them look good, until proven otherwise. Especially when the claims they spout make no sense.
Ah, the old \“the resistance hides among the innocents, so we can\'t help but kill them too\” argument.
The fact is that \“our enemies,\” as you describe them, are simply young men trying to defend their country from an evil invader. They have mothers, brothers, sisters, fathers, and other friends and family, but they are subhuman to you, because you are a bigoted, nationalistic asshole. Perhaps the powers that control your country, which you optimistically refer to as \“we,\” shouldn\'t be illegally invading and occupying other countries by brute force.
I wonder if your precious nation were invaded by a force that had better weapons of mass destruction, if you\'d feel that the loss of your family were justifiable collateral damage.
I think he was being sarcastic.
Of course, that’s the problem; the real war supporters often sound that bad or worse.
Apropos of even less, that last comment sent coffee all over my keyboard. Damn you, VT.
I am sure a few Iraqis who watched a few tons of bombs dropping on their town were impressed with our accuracy. They just marveled at how we tried to spare the citizens. Sure. An action like this would surely teach them to love us and respect America.
The article might speak for itself, but could you send someone in who will speak for you?
I don’t get how this is news. Some of you people are upset about 47 fucking airstrikes? Really? Open a god damn newspaper sometime, you havn’t been keeping up. The US Air Force flew somewhere in the neighborhood of 5,000 combat sorties in Iraq and Afghanistan last year and you pick out 47? The US has an Air Force. Does it really shock anybody that we, um, use it. We bomb something damn near everyday. How is this one suddenly special?
If I didn’t know better I might think people were shooting at each other over there.
