Anything which can understand action and reaction understands time. Knowing that it happens on Saturday - that’s a human concept. Your dog may understand that when you throw a stick it will travel through the air (and time) he/she/it may understand how to chase the stick and return it. I agree that the dog is unlikely to understand you saying that you won’t be free until next Saturday at 3pm.
If the OP was meant as anything other than the setup for a splendid cooking joke, lets not confuse time (which applies to, and is demonstrably understood by, more than humans) with arbitrary time divisions which change between cultures.
