Anyone know where I might be able to find used golf clubs that are no longer in production? Any ideas on resources would be appreciated.
I bought a set of Walter Hagens at a pro shop. Pretty good price, decent condition. Four woods and ten irons (PW & SW). Tried your local pro shops?
There’s a sporting goods store called Play it Again Sports, who specialize in used sporting equipment, from catcher’s masks to ice skates. Oh, BTW, Zeldar, I just bought a new custom-made set of Walter Hagen’s last summer. They’re still in production.
If you live in a city that’s large enough (and Charlotte seems plenty big to me), there should be places that sell used clubs. You may not find the model you want though, but in Southern California there are lots of stores that sell used golf equipment.
Good to know, BF. I wasn’t sure what the “out of production” was supposed to include. The set I bought was several years old and I thought that’s what was being asked.
I guess it was in the late 70’s that I bought them. Haven’t hit a ball in over 20 years. Almost took them on a trip this spring to get out on a course with my brother. He’s big on golf. But I left them home. Good thing, too, since the weather was cold and rainy the whole week.

I’ve seen many sets in pawn shops over the years.
I see them in AmVets, Goodwill and the like.
We have them in most of the thrift shops I work for a dollar or two. Ebay has complete sets too for under $20.00 plus shipping.
One guy who works for one of our shops is a golf professional & he knows which clubs are worth the most so he often throws out the old ones. So, if you don’t find some in the store ask the clerk if there are some in the backroom.
St. Louis has a store catering exclusively to this market, called ‘2nd Swing’ that has a wide variety of used sets. The site lists store locations in the States.
A Play-It-Again outlet usually carries at least eight sets of sticks from what I’ve seen, in addition to hundreds of individual weapons.
(slight hijack - if you want a set of beat all to hell Wilson Counter Torque irons, minus the seven iron, I’ll cut you a real deal, since I recently won a set of Cleveland TA-5 gunmetal irons )
