Just wanted to advise the crowd that I’ve changed my username. (Thanks, TubaDiva.)
My original was my real name, which was a 1999 mistake; my name of the last several months was a generic placeholder. After deep consideration of about three minutes, I’ve chosen a highly representative and meaningful name to represent me here f’revermore.
Points to anyone who can spot the derivation without Google-fu. No cheating, now.
This is my only true name change. The former was from merging my original 1999 account and my newer one - the older name was dropped and there was no other change.
I don’t believe there’s a fixed limit to how many name changes you have per se, just that they don’t want people changing names willy-nilly which would be confusing. So unless you have a good reason, then they prefer you stick with what you’ve got.
For the last time, don’t use my real name on the boards. Do you know how much trouble I’ve already had with a rhyming hyphenated name? Not to mention that last night my underage nepalese au pair masseuse intern screamed out “Ooh, chilly-willy!”
Well, sorta. The name “willynilly” (no hyphen) is registered, but has no posts. So “willy-nilly” is technically available, but the mods and admins have generally frowned upon people finding names too similar to someone else. In this case, though, it probably would slide thru.
