Users are Losers...?

Ok…

Does anyoone remember this McGruff commercial from around 1988-

McGruff says

“McGruff here with Regina to sing 'Users are Losers…”

And then Regina comes on and she looks Ulrta 80s and she has black hair in a ponytail sprouting out of the top of her head and her song-

"Users are losers
and losers are users
so don’t use drugs
DON’T USE DRUGS!

“And if youi know a user even part of the time
Tell him to quit, take a bite out of crime!”

And, so on and so forth.

What a great song. She was so cool.

I was hoping that at least one person on this board knows what happened to Regina, what became of her music career.
Or I was harbouring a secret hope that maybe Regina posts on this board and can tell me herself what she’s up to.

After that, I want to find out Alistair Gillis’s phone number.
Or maybe Kevin Ivanovan Rasputin Kubechesky’s whereabouts.

Oh come, now.

NOBODY has ever heard of this commercial?

Nobody remembers the weird tubular things that she had in her hair, curving in every direction from the sides of her head?

I remembered the song, but not the (apparently) even more memorable characters in the commercial.

I remember the commercial and the song (I’ve had it stuck in my head since I read the thread title – thanks, Turpentine :)) but I have no idea what happened to Regina. Sorry.

I have a very vague memory of the song, but not the commercial itself. Wasn’t Regina the one who did “All Night Passion?”** That little ditty was one of the big requests at all our ninth grade dances.

I honestly haven’t heard anything by or about her since I was about 14.

**The line that sticks with me is “All night passion gets me through the day.” As a 14 year old, this didn’t really mean much to me one way or the other. Now, I must challenge its absurdity. Actual “all night passion” makes me want to sleep in and have breakfast at noon, perhaps catch a move later on. It does not equip me to be especially productive should I have to work, therefore I cannot say that it would “get me through the day.”

well, I don’t remember Regina, but there is a website for “You Can’t Do That on Television”. It’s even got an interview with Kevin Kubechesci on it.
