It’s a MPSIMS about something musical (and television) that I want to drag into the Pit.
Evanescence “My Immortal” whored out for schmaltzy emotionality on a teaser for the final episode of Friends. I’ve never liked the practice, because they always ruin decent music for me. I can’t think of one of my favorite songs from a relatively unknown band (Kings of Convenience “Toxic Girl”) is now linked to hocking phones with text messaging.
What are other examples of this wretched practice?
I thought Friends promos always used Only Time by Enya. I must be out of the loop.
Enya rules.
Honey, you’re preaching to the choir. Ever since I saw that Caddy commericial using one of my favorite Led Zep songs, I’ve had to change the radio station when I hear it. I just get a sick, sad feeling. The ultimate rebel bad boy band, reduced to hacking for CADILLAC. I may cry…
The ultimate was when they used The Beatles “Revolution” for Nike. I think in 1987…
Sad sad day.
“Like a Rock” which has been whored out to Chevy for years.
Didn’t one of The Doors songs get this treatment as well. I seem to remember that from the movie.
