Why come I can’t use google’s “site:” parameter to search boards.straightdope.com?

If you’re serious, it’s because the Straight Dope has blocked google’s spiderbots. If you’re joking, it’s not that funny.
Why come? Because vinegar would be weird? And possibly painful?

Sorry, I’m a little on edge. There are a plethora of threads about the lack of search function, using Boardreader.com as a makeshift search function and why google isn’t the board’s search function. It seemed unlikely that you missed all that. My apologies.
