Utah motel rooms

This is kind-of a stupid question, but do Utah Motel rooms have copies of theBook of Mormom in them?

Not in any of the motels rooms I ever stayed in in Utah. But it wouldn’t surprise me if you found some in Utah.

No, not usually. Some do, especially in small towns if the motel owner happens to be a Mormon. In most places you will find the Gideon Bible just like anywhere else.

One notable exception is the Marriott hotel chain, not just in Utah but everywhere AFAIK there is a Book of Mormon alongside the Bible.

The Gideons (the folks who put the Bibles in hotel rooms) are not affiliated with the hotel chains. That particular thing happens to be their “mission.”

I don’t doubt that somewhere there’s a group of Mormons who want to put the Book of Mormon in every hotel room in the world, they just haven’t gotten it done yet.

Oddly, the hotel that I stayed at in the UK did. I stayed at the Marriott in Swindon and it had a copy of the book of Mormon.

I once stayed at the Turtle Bay Hilton. In the drawer: Gideon’s, Book of Mormon, and worst, but not least, Be My Guest, an autobiography of Conrad Hilton.

Not so odd, seeing that the Marriott family is Mormon, and most Marriott rooms have Book of Mormons in them.

Every hotel I’ve stayed at in Lethbridge Alberta Canada has had a Book of Mormom in drawer beside the bed along side the Gideon.

But Lethbridge has a very high LDS population - probably second to the Salt Lake City region.

Perhaps the lucky ones get a pictorial autobiography of Paris Hilton?

Ah that explains it bradthomas. I have often wondered about that.
