my roommate just recent bought an eprom flasher on ebay, and was wondering if ther was any way to look at the ultraviolet bulb to tell if its burnt out or not.
Every EPROM blanker I’ve ever seen had a very visible bluish color to the light while it was on. Often, it was visible through the plastic housing. ‘Can’t miss it’ type of thing. Of course, I’m used to the cheap ones.
If you wanted an indirect way, one thing I thought of is to put something that glows in the dark in it for a while. If it glows brightly when you take it out, your bulb must work. I’m not sure what the optimal wavelength for charging a GITD item is and if the blankers emit this wavelength.
