I actually met him when I was supplying the sound system at some gig* where he did a solo spot (no band, just him his bass (and a drum machine IIRC)). Friendly easy going bloke (naturally being English I was too polite to ask him about the Soft Boys** despite being a massive fan). It was amazing how self-contained he was just accompaning himself with his bass. I recall a Robyn interview where he (Robyn) described how he (Seligman) was “connected” with his instrument, that’s how I remember his playing, it seemed as effortless as breathing.
I have the bassline from Kingdom of Love playing in my head now.
