The 6968 Reisterstown Road address where the Mustang was found is the official address of Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park, so Laundrie left his vehicle near the (main) entrance:
If this were Great Debates or of any import whatsoever, you’re absolutely right; I should spend the hours it would take to garner every bit of information I could.
Luckily it’s in MPSIMS. My understanding is that the parent’s attorney told them not to talk to the police, so, for awhile, they didn’t cooperate with the police.
If I’m mistaken, if they fully cooperated with police the entire time, I’ll have no problem admitting I was wrong. So, if you have information that they’ve cooperated the entire time, just let me know.
On September 22, it was announced that the Mayakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park would be closed to the public until further notice, starting the following day. No reason was given. Maybe if it was for flooding reasons they would have said so.
Not at all. What I am saying is that even in a garden variety domestic, that the police handle thousands of times daily across the country, wires get crossed, information is processed poorly, and the wrong people get arrested. So, in a serious case that involves you or your kids, don’t just think that running to the police and taking the “moral high ground” is best, because it may get you in a huge pinch and things still turn out wrong. Let the information come out in a way that a guy like a lawyer can get it out.
They didn’t refuse to talk to the police at any time? I was under the impression that their attorney indicated they had not always spoke to the police when asked. And that Gabby’s parents were told that the Laundrie’s were refusing to cooperate with the investigation. Thanks for clearing that up.
I don’t believe they did. Depending on what you think is moral. I’d say the moral thing to do would be to take reasonable steps to prevent further harm from being caused. I don’t think they are obliged to make amends for harm already caused by someone else.
Asking them to “help uncover the truth” would be an immoral request unless you hold the responsible for being the parents of a murderer, you’re asking them to increase their own emotional distress to alleviate the distress of the other parents.
Brian killed Gabby and now he’s dead to. I feel equally bad for both their parents. And the whole damn thing sucks from start to finish for everyone involved.
And? You continue to insist that the possibility that the police may make a mistake, or even intentional abuse of ower, means you are under no moral obligation to report a crime or cooperate with police. How does that change when you witness the abuse. Is it just the familial relation?
If you believe the reason it is moral to refuse to cooperate with a law enforcement investigation is that the investigators might do a bad thing in the future, how does that not include refusing to report a crime? It was UltraVires who used the example of the witnesses to the slapping as somehow being moral because of the potential results of the investigation.
