Vancouver in Mourning

Today me, and most of the Vancouver BC Canada area is mourning the passing of Bjossa the Killer Whale. Bjossa was a much loved resident of the Vancouver Aquarium until this spring, when she was sold to Seaworld in San Diego. She suffered a chronic lung infection and had lost both of her male companions, so it was hoped that she might do better down south. She took a turn for the worse in August but made a partial recovery. Her death was quite sudden and as I listen to the news right now, the theory is that she had a stroke. She also leaves to mourn her little friend, Whitewings, the Dolphin, her pool-mate of many years. Bjossa was twenty-five.
Swim free, Bjossa
