I have to admit I haven’t watched TWOF in five years or more, but I just had to :rolleyes: when I was just now flipping through the channels and saw the new modern letter board. No need to flip the letter around any more, she just slinks by and sort of gestures at each tile, and it lights up.
I bet she got a raise, too.
All in all, I’d rather watch The Price is Right, even if it is basically just an hour of commercials strung together.

My mom and dad just got back from a trip to Las Vegas and they had Wheel of Fortune in the casino. Dad said the players were just as dumb as on TV but the letter turners (or gesturers, whatever) were prettier than Vanna White (not hard to do in his, and my, opinion).

She’s very fortunate she can make a nice living that way. She’d be sol as an actress. She did some made-for-tv movie years ago – it was bad, really bad.
The orginal reason was that she was pregnant and they said it would make it easier on her NOT to turn letters.

They never needed anyone to turn those letters anyway. They could have used tv screens a long time back just like on Jeopardy.
But little girls love Vanna.
She used to be in my best friends’ acting class too in the early 80’s. But some people, like Tia Carrere too, you can’t teach them to act.
