Various Documentaries and Related Information:

In a world of one-voice media, a billionaires’ echo chamber being imposed on the rest of us: the documentary may be a last refuge for the independent mind. So I aim to post my favorites, here, and welcome you to do the same.

If you’d like to give a personal description, it would be appreciated. If you want to copy/paste the description posted with the video at its source, that will work, too. But if you just want to give the title: no problem. However you choose to post, it’s all good by me.

The only thing I ask is that you post from your heart. If it’s something that kept your interest throughout the watch, I would love to see it posted.

Where? I don’t see any documentaries you mention.

Anyway, documentaries rarely aim to simply document things as they are. Especially with the most popular ones, they aim to present an agenda-oriented interpretation of their subject matter and are never above disingenuous film-making tactics and flat-out stating mistruths. I wouldn’t necessarily say they are more “independent-minded” than any other type of media.

I will post as the crow flies. Trust me.

It depends upon the work. That’s true.

Maybe the thread is meant to start out this way:

Too much copyrighted text for board rules. Use your own words. I’d report it, but I don’t think I’d be the first.

By the way: I don’t expect all (or most, or even many) of the posts to contain fully independent productions. I will post more work from the Maysles Brothers, and they certainly barely qualified as independent. I will post lots of stuff from Louis Theroux, and he did/does most of his work for the BBC.

Please be specific. Point something out that you might have a problem with.

From the registration agreement:

Bolding mine.

Since your posts are way beyond what is acceptable, I’ve closed this thread pending attention from a Cafe Society moderator.
