A search brought up a few old threads about the Mafia (caps correct?) and its influence in the U.S., but they were are few years old. After reading a few things (and seeing the current thread about mob life styles), I’m curious about its influence in Las Vegas. It’s been said that Vegas was cleaned up, but the events that continue to surround Crazy Horse Too make me believe otherwise. I’ve also read that the mafia runs many “clip joints” (basically rip off strip bars) in the city. So, what’s the straight dope? Is Vegas mostly mafia free or does Steve Wynn have to kick up to keep his place safe?
