Vehicle names

Does anyone know of a website where I can cross-reference vehicle names with their codes?

For example a Corvette is a GMX 245, a Toyota 635N is the Tacoma Truck, The Ford D219 is the Freestyle, or a GMT 360 is the GM Trail Blazer.

I can go to individual Wiki’s but I would like one site that has them listed somewhere.

Anyone know of one?

No, but where are you getting these “codes”?

Aren’t these internal company project codes given prior to a real “name” being assigned? Back when I was in product development at GM, the P car later became the Fiero, but I always think of it as the P car.

They get referenced in the press by the internal project codes when designers speak too candidly. I doubt if there is a database of them though.

Well they are internal codes, but they are also known externally. Frequently customers will use either or both.

And sometimes the platform name is actually several models of cars being sold. The GMT 360 is both the TrailBlazer and the Envoy.

One of our customers refers to his programs by the platform name 050L, or DEW 98, etc. We typically call it by the external names, Toyota Camry and Lincoln LS.

Since I do not always have direct contact with that program’s customer, I was just wondering if there was an easy cross-reference instead of having to google each platform name.

I thought that I had seen one on here before.

The GMT 360 is also the Isuzu Ascender and Saab 9-7

Not sure of a specific list covering all manufacturers but Wikipedia lists the ones I looked up at random:

The current 5 series BMW is an E60

The current Escalade is on the GMT 900 platform.

The current Benz E Class is a W211

Etc.

You know dad, if they won’t do my homework, what makes you expect they’ll do your REAL work??

Chrysler had a series called the s car. It was very slow. Watching the s car go was like watching a snail.
