Velocity by Dean Koontz-Movie?

Has anyone else read this book? If they make a movie of it, the character Ralph Cottle has to be played by Harry Dean Stanton. Is Harry Dean Stanton alive? Do you know who I mean–Harry Dean Stanton? Does anyone have any information? I’d really like to know. Will there be a movie? With Harry Dean Stanton?

Does anyone know? Will there be a “Velocity” movie? With Harry Dean Stanton?

If you want to know if someone is alive, you Google on the terms “Wikipedia” and their name. Doing that, I find that Harry Dean Stanton is alive. He will appear in at least one new movie and TV episode this year:

There’s no mention of a movie of Velocity in the Wikipedia entry:

No Velocity but IMDB reports there are some other Dean Koontz movies in development: The Husband, an adaptation of his 2006 novel, a film based on Koontz’s Frankenstein series and finally, believe it or not, Trixie, a movie centered on his dog! I don’t think Stanton is being considered for that part though.

Velocity was too derivative of his earlier work, Position.

Isn’t all of his work self-derivative? I can never remember the titles of the ones I’ve read because they’re all the same…plucky young heroine, haunted hero, on the run from faceless evil. Oh, and there’s always a golden retriever.

Yes, and his Acceleration was even more derivative, if you can believe it.

Agreed 100%; Read one and you’ve read them all.

I did like the one with the sentient golden retriever.

Don’t worry - I got the joke.

I don’t honestly see how it’s possible for you to be familiar with both of these books at the same time.

But, Velocity was integral to his development of his latest work Distance.

Watchers, I liked it too! Phantoms was okay, and Lightning. But he is also the only author that I literally threw one of his books across the room in disgust.

Looks like the dream has died :frowning:

Aww, man. When are they ever going to adapt either of my favorites, The Face or The Taking?
