I get internet and e-mail service at home through verizon.net. When I set up my account, I was able to pick an e-mail address (not shelbo@verizon.net, but close enough). So that’s fine. However, when I send an e-mail, the recipient doesn’t see my shelbo@ e-mail address – they get something like kz654@verizon.net.
Is there an easy way to fix it so that people receiving my e-mails from home see my normal e-mail address, and not the one that verizon picked for me?
I would recommend using an email client like Eudora. I have Verizon but I use the aforementioned program, and it is very easy to set up and use. For the meantime, you can download that, go to options and put in you verizon pw and server name (something like outgoing@verizon.net) and be done. I’ll try and check my setup when I get home to see what you need to do just using Verizon.
If you are using Outlook Express, just click on “Tools”, then “Accounts…”. Select the “Mail” tab. Make sure your account is highlighted for your “mail (default)”. Click the “Properties” button.
You can use either your real name or your shelbo@verizon.net as the name of the mail account. Fill in the “Name” field and put shelbo@… in as the email address.
