Very vaguely creepy.

Hehehe. Rick, I just made that one up! :o)

Almost 2 years ago I was home alone for the night. I went to bed at ten but woke back up at eleven with a very wierd, unsettled feeling. I tryed to go back to sleep but merely wound up tossing and turning till about 7 in the morning when the bad feeling left me and I was able to fall asleep. My daughter called me later that day to ask if I had heard about the body that had been found at the park about a mile from my house. It seems several teenager had gone to the park at about eleven and 4 of them had stabbed one of their friends about seventy times and left him to bleed to death. His body was found at 7 in the morning.

I also find the number of people who chose this thread for their first post kind of odd.

I noticed that, too.

The ratio of new posters to established posters is EXTREMELY high.

But I’ll bet you’ll find that in just about any ThreadSpotting feature.

I would but I think that would qualify as “very vaguely creepy”!

I once visited a friend who was staying in a house belonging to friends of her family. She was using the bedroom of the son of the family, and one wall was covered with a bookshelf containing books and knick knacks. These items were divided equally between ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ books and figurines, and Nazi memorabilia. No other subject was represented.

My friend didn’t find anything odd about this, but ever since I’ve wondered what these twin obsessions say about a person. I guess it’s possible he’d taken all his sunflowers, rainbows and smiley faces away with him when he left, but the thought of the room and its inhabitant creeps me out slightly

I thought I was the only one! That song and the scene has scared the hell out of me since I was little. It’s just so… wierd! I’m a horror movie junkie, so I think it’s even a little creepy that this, of all things, creeps me out!!

Oh, I just thought of something else… The fact that at age 24, I’ve suddenly started talking in my sleep. never have done it before, but lately i’ve been waking myself up! Its very wierd to wake up at 3am and realize that you’ve been talking out loud.

While I’m here, I’ve got a few more… Last year at the end of June, i got this bizarre urge to call my parents, even though I had already spoken to them that day. Turns out, my dad had a seizure, and I called just as the paramedics were arriving at their house.

Another… yesterday my mom picked up a piece of paper that I had been doodling on (i am a compulsive doodler). She asked who did it, and i told her it was me. She then went and got one of her sketch books from when SHE was in college, and they were the EXACT SAME DOODLES! And we’re not talking your everyday smiley faces and random lines. This was a very intricate pattern. It was wierd.

Oh my God! They killed Kenny!

Dolores & Welfy: I’m glad I’m not the only one! My roommate recently told me that when she was younger, she used to walk and talk in her sleep. She once slept over her cousin’s home and was found standing straight up in her bed, with that blank stare. She demanded to know if her cousin was an angel or devil. Being smart, the girl answered “I’m an angel” and then my roommate simply said “Oh, then I’ll go get you some milk.” She jumped off the bed, walked into the closet, slammed into the back of it, then turned around and laid back in bed. She hit the wall so hard that her uncle came rushing in thinking the bed had collapsed.

The day after she related this story to me, my boyfriend and I came home. Her bedroom door was shut. My bf went into the kitchen, and someone stuck their head out and called out “Kelly?” (my roommates’ name). Not wanting to scare the person, my bf sneaked back into my room and shut the door (he’s a scary guy himself). The next morning, I asked Kelly if someone slept over, and she claims that no one did. She wasn’t home herself! She had left at about 9PM and we had come home well after 11!!! This was right around the time our coffee pot inexplicably moved itself from under our cabinet onto the fridge. The both of us swear up and down that neither one of us moved it!!!

Okay, well, this is nowhere near as creepy as the fenced-off neighborhood in Nevada, but it sure scared the shit out of me. My friend Kevin and I, when we first started hanging out, seemed to bring about, well, weird stuff. To start off, the first two times I got a ride from his parents, we got into an accident. The first time, his dad rear-ended an suv and totaled the car, and the second time, his mom got rear-ended, but no serious damage. This was kind of weird, but we were willing to write it off as coincidence. Then there was the power.
The first times that we hung out, about 6 times in a row, the power would go out. Wherever we went. The first two times weren’t too bad, they were at his house, and the power company ain’t too reliable around there. Then, it started happening when we went out. We were walking on a street with alot of shops on it, boom, power goes out. We went to Kennywood (amusement park by our city, Pittsburgh), and not only did the power go out, but there was a tornado. Both times. Those two tornadoes are the only two to hit Pittsburgh in a loooooong time. Then, the last time had an added bonus of creepiness. We were at his house and, predictably, the power goes out. This is at about 10 o’clock at night, so his room is now completely pitch black. We kind of start laughing about it, when all of a sudden, this red light blinks on. It’s the red light on his stereo, and we think, okaaayyyy…it has batteries in case this happens, and we had been listening to the radio, so it’s no big deal. As it turns out, the power went out exactly at the point between songs. So, there’s about 3 seconds of silence, and then music starts playing. But this is no ordinary music. This is Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon.” Now, I don’t know about you, but sitting in pitch black with only a little red light on, listening to “Money,” definitely red-lines my creep-o-meter.

That, and the little girl from the Pepsi commercials. Just so…unnatural. <shudder>

Yet another creepy thing happened to me last night. My friend and I are big fans of fantasy and weird stuff. One of our all time favorite movies is “Labyrinth” by Jim Henson, with David Bowie. I’ve adored this movie since I was a kid, but the one set of characters I’ve never come to terms with are the Fireys, those red bird-like characters that can rearrange their body parts. For the longest time, I’ve had nightmares about these things, but it wasn’t until this year, when I bought the newly remastered video, did I realize what the cause of those nightmares and my freaky-ass paintings and drawings are from (I have a series of nightmare images that I draw and paint). Well, okay…the last couple months have been okay, except for the ghost problem we have in my new apartment. But this past weekend, I visited this friend and he let me borrow 2 videos of the StoryTeller series that Henson did years ago, right around the time Labyrinth came out (the dog’s voice is that of Hoggle). Now, he KNOWS that the Fireys totally freak me out to the point of delusion, so what does NOT tell me about one of the episodes in the StoryTeller? How about the MOTHER OF ALL FIREYS, the GRIFFIN!!! THIS THING IS HUGE!!!

I’m 23 and I slept with the lights on last night!!! I woke up time and time again from dreaming that this huge bird head came out at me from my closet. YUCK!!! And that’s another thing… Ever have those dreams
where you just feel so small that the air feels like it’s pressing down on you? My bedroom and closet seemed immense n my dreams last night! That’s creepy too! I love this thread!!!

those little things you see in your periferal vision that look like bugs sometimes, or people others, and then you turn your head and nothing’s there…

Many a creepy thing has happened to this poor soul…

1.) The spirit world seems to enjoy warning me of danger. When I was in Savannah, Georgia, my family and I visited a cemetary (we’re history buffs, not psychos). It was a nice cemetary, plenty of sunlight, clean. The grave markers were well kept. Anyway, I decded that it would be a cool idea to go off and explore by myself. I found a rusty gate that was open and led to a little path. Now, the gate in and of itself should have deterred me like it would any sane person, but this is me we’re talking about…anyway, I entered this area overgrown with weeds and choked with vines. The gravestones were run down, falling over, broken and unintelligible. This was a bit creepy…but the weirdest thing was the sense of evil I was picking up from the far corner. Not just creepyness, but the sense that to not leave the area RIGHT NOW would mean certain death…I got the same feeling a year later in a house we were considering purchasing. This house was freaky shit, let me tell you…it was evil and wrong. I appreciate the help from the supernatural…I wish it wasn’t so eerie though.

2.) “Dark Side of the Moon” creeps me out late at night too. Hearing about the loonies on the path at three in the morning is a BAD idea.

3.) Also, the part in Jesus Christ Superstar, during the trial before Pilate where Jesus sings:
“I have no kingdom
in this world I’m through
There may be a kingdom for me somewhere
If you only knew”

The accompaniment music at that part is really creepy, like one of those carnival carousels gone terribly, terribly wrong.

That’s all, friends. Sorry for the long post.

Posting is rare for me, but this story is just a little too appropriate to let go untold.

When I was about 8 my fraternal twin brothers were about 5 and we all shared a big room upstairs in our parent’s house. One morning my mother came in, finding us all still asleep, began to wake us for what reason I don’t remember. When she got to the first of the twins she found him still asleep with his entire pillowcase covered in semi-dried blood. He had a gash in the back of his head about an inch long. No one has any idea what happened to him. He did fall out of bed on occasion around that age, but the beds were fairly high and he always woke up crying when this happened, along with either myself or my other brother from the THUD most times.

If that’s not odd enough he now has a scar in that spot where his hair won’t grow, although you can only see it when his hair is cut fairly short. The creepy part is his twin has a mark on the back of his head in roughly the same spot that although it isn’t exactly the same its awfully similar.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT MY BEST FRIEND AND I SAID WHEN WE HEARD ABOUT IT!!! >:) Everybody called us cruel and evil but we coudln’t resist.

About 4 months ago I could have sworn I caught a glimpse of a black lab out of the corner of my left eye. When I looked there was no black lab in my yard. This happened two times. Then about 2 months ago my son rescued a black lab from the pound that was scheduled to be put to sleep the next day. Since having the dog, I have seen a black lab again out of the corner of my left eye, but not our dog because he was no where around. Any ideas?

One more for the road, I promise!!!

I just remembered this little “Gross Out” contest I had with a friend. We had to find really creepy TRUE stories that are somehow related to us in some fashion (like from friends and family). I subsequently won, but here’s the low-down on the types of stories we were telling.

My boyfriend’s uncle used to be in one of those “greaser” gangs back in the 50s, with the Roadsters and duck’s ass do’s. Well, once, there were about 8 people packed into one of their cars (VERY roomy, but without seatbelts). The uncle was sitting in the middle of the backseat with his girlfriend on his lap, having lots of fun. That ended abruptly when they had a head-on collision with another car. When it was all over, he shook off the shock and started asking his girlfriend if she was alright because she was shaking and moving around. He looks up, and she doesn’t have a head! She had been decapitated and her nerves were causing her body to move! I believe 4 people died in that accident. His uncle has never been “right” ever since.

My friend then countered with this lovely story. His brother or mom’s brother (can’t remember which) was driving down a highway, when he witnessed an accident. As he was one of the first on the scene, he pulled up next to one car to see if the guy was alright. He looks into the window and sees this person turning the knob of his car stereo, changing the station, without a head. It seems that he was in the process of fiddling with the radio when he got hit and his body continued to move after the moment of death.

I eventually won with this triple-whammy combination:

When my parents came from overseas to live in the US (from Korea), they moved into a cheap house in Trenton, NJ. My dad was working 18-20 hours a day as a taxi driver and my mom, pregnant with me, was home all the time. She never liked the house and would hear people and see shadows moving across the walls where none should have existed. She eventually began hearing voices in her head and my grandmother performed a ceremonial exorcism (my whole family has gifts, especially the women). One day, my mom didn’t want to be alone, so she tried to keep the neighborhood kids around by giving them cake and candy and stuff. A couple kids come tearing around the corner of the house and asks what was kept in the basement. My parents didn’t know where was a basement, and the kids stated that there were these long boxes stacked up on tables. Totally creepy! My parents moved out of that place forthwith and later found out that they were living in an old funeral home/mortuary! My mom had been possessed by dead spirits! EEP!!

Story 2: My boyfriend, again, has some uncle or grandfather or grand-something that was in some war (Vietnam or Korean, I believe). He was just a grunt, assigned to stand guard inside some general’s bunker. The general and his men were around a table with a map, talking about whatever they talk about during a war. There’s a round of bombing going on when the whole bunker seemed to implode around him. He gets thrown backwards and when he gathers his wits, he hears this muffled noise. His first thought is the explosion screwed up his hearing, but when he looks to where the table stood, he sees someone’s body standing there, with its windpipe exposed. Whoever that person was, was still talking!!! The noise was air escaping through the partially ruined larynx! The body was definitely “TALKING” because it wasn’t just a rush of air, but different intonations and specific pauses.

Story 3 (a short one, I promise): Back when human experiments were allowed, someone I know had his big toe removed then reattached for some military/medical experiment, back in the 40s. He got a couple thousand dollars in return. That’s weird.

Oh, and more on photos of dead people, this same friend with whom I had this contest with, had some woman come into his bookstore and give him a picture postcard of a dead priest, sort of like what Father Alameida from the movie Stigmata looked like. She returns every 5 months or so and always reminds him of that picture.

Oh my God, Yes! That freaks me out to no end! I have this bug phobia anyway. Ok, it’s not a phobia exactly, it’s just, uh, they make me extremely uncomfortable. Especially when they get on me. I live in Texas and we have these BIG roaches…that fly. One time at my sister’s house, we’re all watching TV. A moth flies in through the screen door, flies around the room, and disappears somewhere. No big deal, right? Later, I put my hands behind my head, and out of the corner of my eye, see a black something (not a moth!) under my arm. I turn my head and I’m face to face with this giant roach. Oh. My. God. I immediately scream, stand up, and without thinking rip off my t-shirt and bra in one motion, and throw it across the room. Thankfully, no one was there except my sister and my husband, but I don’t think it would have mattered. I keep wanting to watch that new TNT movie “They Nest”, but my husband won’t let me. I like scary movies…

I often see cats out of the corner of my eye that aren’t really there. Usually, it’s my cat Elton who I had to have put down last summer because of a very large tumor in his abdomen. Even before he died, though, I’d see him in places where he ought not be. Sometimes it will be just a cat that I’ve never seen before. It happens at least once a week, and it totally creeps me out.

Lunatic13, can we please have a talk about your post. Your email address is not included so I am hoping you read this reply.
