Veterans Day question: How many Great War veterans are still alive?

Even more staggering were the numbers killed by the socalled “Spanish Flu of 1918”,which was,in an account I read, spread by WW1 troops.

Don’t recall the actual numbers but I’ve heard as high as 1 in 4 in some locales that contracted it died.One was my grandfather,who left my Grandmother with an infant child-my Mother.

I’d guess that flu depleted the survivor ranks more than,say WW11 vets when they reach the C mark around 2025 or so.

…any word on how many GERMAN WWI veterans are still alive today?
