Vicious Dogs might escape leashes

Rape victims have suffered a physical assault. You haven’t as far as I can tell. It sounds like irrational fear of dogs to me.

Some dogs are uncomfortable around people that behave erratically. That discomfort may show as barking and lunging in an attempt to drive off the scary being. Mostly it’s bluffing on the dog’s part and they don’t really want to engage, they just want the scary thing to go away.

When you see dogs like that, don’t stare or posture in an aggressive manner, just go about your business.

I walk in my neighbourhood a lot, being one of those dog owners that leash walks her dogs on a daily basis. My dogs rarely respond in any way to other people walking, except with mild friendliness and the other dogs I see walking may show some interest in me and my dogs, but I don’t see the crazed frenzy to attack that you seem to describe. Where do you live that every dog seems to have it in for you?

Having read a few more posts, perhaps the dogs’ behaviour is being encouraged by the human on the end of the leash. Are you doing something that may make the person walking the dog find you threatening? Are they communicating that to their dogs, either consciously or unconsciously?

First of all, no attack has happened, so there is no fault there.

The fear of attack is in your head. That is your fault.

" Are you doing something that may make the person walking the dog find you threatening? Are they communicating that to their dogs, either consciously or unconsciously? "

Again – it must be my fault.

Astonishing.

HERE’S A BIG WOODEN CROSS that you might need.

Since I don’t see a question in the OP, I’m going TO MOVE this to THE PIT on the grounds of EXCESSIVE RANDOM CAPITALIZATION.

My dog will jump at you when you walk by.

If he were to get loose of his leash, he would not bite you. He would lick you.

I do not consider a dog on a leash 12 feet away to be enough justification for you to draw and fire a weapon at it. To be blunt, if you draw a weapon when I am 12 feet away and point it in my direction, I would consider it a life-threatening action on your part and would take appropriate action to defend myself.

you missed

the question in the OP, bobo?

“is it just OKAY with Dog Owners that their vicious dog makes an innocent neighbor go into a mode where they realize they will be in a serious fight with dog(s) should the hold on the leash be let go of somehow?”

Don Pardo voice – “the answer has been stated in the form of a Question”

Yes.

“I do not consider a dog on a leash 12 feet away to be enough justification for you to draw and fire a weapon at it.”

didnt say I’d FIRE – said I would AIM

" I would consider it a life-threatening action on your part and would take appropriate action to defend myself. "

ahh – so you also consider some things “life-threatening” and requiring “appropiate action to defend oneself”

so we have sumpn in common

so by answering YES – “FI” – you agree that there was a question in the OP?

AIM at the threatening dog – actually FIRE if the hold on the leash is released

Yes. But is was a question asking for personal opinions that will vary from person to person. That is not appropriate for General Questions, where we allow only questions of fact.

so has my post been moved for THE RIGHT REASON then, FI?

That is was not appropriate for General Questions

OR DOES EXCESSIVE RANDOM CAPITALIZATION

trump everything concerning personal opinions and questions of actual fact?

I’m sure we have many things in common. However, a dog on a leash being a threat to your life is not one of them.

Keep repeating to yourself. THE DOG IS ON A LEASH.

It certainly didn’t belong in GQ. But SINCE YOU SEEM TO BE SHOUTING A LOT I thought the Pit would be the best place for you to GET THINGS OFF YOUR CHEST.

Yes, it’s okay.

Straining or not, the dog’s not bothering you, and it’s not off it’s leash. Leave it alone and go on with your life.

Also your grammatical mistakes and lack of punctuation make you sound unreasonable, and not very serious.

You’re looking for a reason to attack and possibly kill an innocent dog being walked by an innocent person, that has not harmed you. That is NOT okay.

Next question?

I always Have.
