After I was playing a game on my Gameboy Advance SP, I unknowingly placed the Gameboy on top of a game cartridge. What May make this worse is that my gameboy has rubber body “armor” that may add to the Gameboy’s weight. What should I look for to figure if the cartridge is damaged or not?
The GBA SP is not heavy enough to damage a GBA cartridge. I don’t see the problem here. Is the case cracked?
Unless you heard it go “crack!” when the Gameboy was put on it, I can’t imagine anything happened. Now, if you stepped on it, that’d be another story.
If the cartridge is still intact, and the game still plays, then it’s not damaged.
As Amp said, the Gameboy is not heavy enough to cause any sort of damage just by sitting it on the game cartridge. Now if you dropped the Gameboy onto the cartridge from a height of several meters, and the cartridge was on a hard surface, and the Gameboy hit the cartridge corner-first, then you might damage it.
As things stand, however, the Gameboy probably put less pressure on the cartridge than many people do when simply holding it.
Thanks for the replies. I’m kinda anal about these things.
