Video from DVD to facebook

I have a home movie from many years ago that I just had transferred to DVD. I want to post it or parts of it on Facebook.

What’s the easiest way to do that? I have Itunes 9, Windows Media Player, something called Windows Movie Maker, and other random things that came on my PC, but none of them seem to do it by themselves.

You need to rip your DVD movie to a different format, like AVI, and then you can use Windows Movie Maker to chop it up into the pieces you want to post.

Here’s a page on VideoHelp.com that lists programs you can use (most of them free) to get the DVD to AVI or MPEG.

Lots of people use Handbrake to get their DVDs into a format to play on their iPods. That might be a good place to start.
