I thought it would be trivial to google dozens of these but I am not having any luck. Could anyone link to a video of someone “endlessly” falling down a moving escalator?
I don’t think this needs to be explained but it would be an escalator going up and the person never reaching the bottom of the escalator as it keeps running up.
It doesn’t have to be real. A staged one from a comedy show or movie is perfectly fine. It would have to be live action, though. Animated won’t do (although please link for giggles if you have one).
Even staged it would be very hard to do. You’d have to hit an exact balance between picking up too much speed falling or eventually coming to a stop on a stair, and given how flailing limbs would shift the balance continually, I can’t see it happening for more than a few seconds. I’ve seen videos of Slinkys doing this, but a Slinky has a very predictable movement.
Anyway, a cartoon version: The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, season 1 episode 7 second skit “To Eris Human”,
This is kinda close http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zY2pudJfaRU , I thought he was going to for a second but as Lumpy said, the flailing limbs catch him and he rides up, lessening the comedic value…
I guess it doesn’t have to be perfect. It is ok for the falling person to ride up or down as long as it is clear that the fall is being made longer by the fact that the escalator keeps pushing him upwards.
Thanks for both links. You would think that one would have a blast watching dozens of videos of people rolling down escalators (there really is no shortage of them) but it gets kind of depressing after a short while.
