does anyone know how much money an average movie makes after its released in theaters (video sales and rentals?) or how that is calculated?

A movie has to take in 3 times it’s production cost before it starts to earn a profit for the studio. (the theatre takes a third of the ticket price)
Profit= cost - expenses
But people down there have very ‘creative’ accountants. In other words, ‘what is two plus two?’ answer: what do you want it to be?
