My office is on a skeleton staff, with most of us working from home. We’re trying to stay in touch via e-mail.
I’d like to start sending a song, a funny video clip or something similar every morning, just to bring a smile to people’s faces during stressful times. Thought I’d ask you smart Dopers for suggestions. (And yes, it’s sorta Café Society, but since the theme is quarantine relief, thought I’d post it here.)
Here’s the three I’ve thought of so far:
1 the closing chorus from “Don’t stand so close to me” by the Police. Problem is, I don’t want to post the whole song, just the chorus, which they repeat a couple of times in closing. (The song itself is kinda icky if you listen to it…). But haven’t been able to find a clip yet just of the chorus.
2 on the theme of the kids going squirrely, the clip from Simpsons: “ flying a kite at night is unwholesome/in this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics”
3 for a more optimistic note, “There’ll be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover,” by Dame Vera Lynn. (Inspired by the thread advising us that the old dame is still with us, and recently issued a “chin up” message about coronavirus: “if we beat Hitler, we can beat this!”)
Suggestions welcomed!
And If anyone can find a clip of just the chorus to “Don’t stand” I’d be very grateful. My google-fu has failed me.
