Video/songs for corona times

My office is on a skeleton staff, with most of us working from home. We’re trying to stay in touch via e-mail.

I’d like to start sending a song, a funny video clip or something similar every morning, just to bring a smile to people’s faces during stressful times. Thought I’d ask you smart Dopers for suggestions. (And yes, it’s sorta Café Society, but since the theme is quarantine relief, thought I’d post it here.)

Here’s the three I’ve thought of so far:

1 the closing chorus from “Don’t stand so close to me” by the Police. Problem is, I don’t want to post the whole song, just the chorus, which they repeat a couple of times in closing. (The song itself is kinda icky if you listen to it…). But haven’t been able to find a clip yet just of the chorus.

2 on the theme of the kids going squirrely, the clip from Simpsons: “ flying a kite at night is unwholesome/in this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics”

3 for a more optimistic note, “There’ll be bluebirds over the white cliffs of Dover,” by Dame Vera Lynn. (Inspired by the thread advising us that the old dame is still with us, and recently issued a “chin up” message about coronavirus: “if we beat Hitler, we can beat this!”)

Suggestions welcomed!

And If anyone can find a clip of just the chorus to “Don’t stand” I’d be very grateful. My google-fu has failed me.

My constant earworm since the shelter in place order for San Francisco began has been Bette Midler’s From a Distance. It started just because of the word “distance,” but now I’m really feeling the message of hope (“No guns, no bombs, and no disease…”)

I’ve heard that REM’s It’s The End Of The World As We Know It has made a comeback on the charts.

So is Larry Underwood’s “Baby, can you dig your man?”

Perhaps too morbid, but John Oliver has a great video on “The End Of The World” made after a real such video by Ted Turner was unearthed. And it is priceless. I think it’s on YouTube.

Barenaked Ladies parody :
One Week Of COVID-19

There are several parodies of “Come On, Eileen”; this one is followed by “I’m workin’ From Home Now” (“I Think I’m Alone Now”).

Tons of coronavirus songs now.

My Corona Home (parody of Kokomo)

We Didn’t Start the Virus (parody of We Didn’t Start the Fire)

My Corona (parody of My Sharona)

Coronavirus Rising (parody of Bad Moon Rising)

Yesterday (parody of the Beatles tune)

Stayin’ Inside (parody of Stayin’ Alive)
