Ok, I sadly know absolutely nothing about the Vietnam war. Last night J.J. was apparently recruited for some special operations type work, and at the end of the episode it was revealed that they were studying maps of Cambodia. Can anyone give me a rough explanation of the signifigance of this?
I didn’t see the show but doesn’t it take place in the mid 60’s? At that time, American military involvement in Indochina was not “supposed” to include Cambodia which was neutral. The U.S. did not “openly” go into Cambodia until 1970 (even though there already had been illegal clandestine combat going on there for several years).
This is just a grossly oversimplified explanation. The topic of American involvement in Cambodia during the Vietnam War is better discussed in another thread.
Yeah that explains it then - I think we’re only in '64 or '65 in the show. Thanks for the explanation. Time to do some reading about Vietnam.
