But if you are a believer in whatever the modern GOP/Trumpists believe in (racism, tax cuts, maintaining power and owning the libs, apparently, then you do what you have to to get in a position of power (like lie about Roe being settled law/precedent).
All he needs is to embolden maskhole parents to aggressively get up in the grill of any school authority that decides to follow the law and not the Governor’s orders, shouting “it says CDC recommends! that means it’s not mandatory!”.
Leading to takeover of the School Boards next time they come around. Or maybe even the setting up of “Freedom Schools” as an alternate to the general public ones, and then seeking to divest the latter (hey, Virginia was among the states that did try that back in the early desegregation days)
