Virginia public schoolchildren get invitations to a Pagan celebration - thank Falwell

In Albemarle County, Virginia children get announcement fliers sent home in their Friday folders. Local pagans who worship at a historical Unitarian church in Charlottesville have planned a Pagan celebration for the December holidays, and the announcement flier, complete with pentagram, was given to kids at school the other day.

Wait a second! With the separation of church and state in America, how is this possible? Turns out it’s Jerry Falwell’s doing. Recently a family of Christians demanded–and got–permission to distribute announcements of vacation Bible school. The public schools at first refused, because of separation of Church and state, duh. Then Falwell’s pressure group Liberty Counsel got involved and succeeded in making the schools distribute the Bible school advertisement.

And the school system said if we do this for one religion, it has to be open to all of them. Now the Christian fundamentalists in Albemarle County are outraged that the Pagans are exercising their equality. Hey… you asked for it. The Christian bloggers are throwing fits! Can’t they see that they themselves are the cause of this? Serves 'em right.

The poll at the WINA Radio web site poses this question in a slanted way: “Do you support public schools’ distribution of a flyer promoting a ‘Pagan ritual’?” And yet, as I write, the poll is 96% in favor of the Pagans!

It depends.

Will they be serving free ice cream?

If they keep pushing there agenda they will find areas like Dearborn Michigan stopping classes for Muslim prayers. Thers are huge concentrations of Arabs here and they do account for majorities in several schools. They shouldn’t open that door.

Actually, I think it should hinge on whether or not the service is “sky clad.” :stuck_out_tongue:

And, bwahahahahahaha to Falwell. Take that you fuckin’ hypocrite.

Or if the Great Rite is being done.
