I have heard from several sources that if you put visine in
beer that it will cause the recipient to experience a rather
unplesant urge to rush to the bathroom. From the look of this it appears that this might be an urban legend, but I
can not find any specific reference to this anywhere.
As the original poster on the thread to which Retsin2000 refers, let me be the first to tell you that I STILL have not gotten a straight answer on this.
Half the people I’ve asked say it is bullshit
The other half swear it’s true, but have never done it themselves and always have a ‘friend of a friend’ who did it to someone else. I’m also suspicious in that the effect is half the time: vomitting, the other half: diarrhea. I find it hard to believe it can go either way.
OK. I was a bartender, in the 80’s. It worked then, diarrhea, never vomiting. Used it in mixed drinks, never tried beer. Took one good squirt of the bottle. Took less than half an hour. Much easier way of getting rid of someone than a bar fight. YMMV
Don’t know if the formula in Visine has changed over the years, though. Everything else seems to have been “new and improved”.
This website http://members.nbci.com/drink21/various-20.htm has a recipe for a mixed drink called a “Running Kamikaze” which calls for three (3) drops of eye drops; it says, “Visine is ok. Curaco Murine preferred.” It doesn’t indicate what special effects, if any, may be expected from this drink.
(There’s also a recipe for a drink called a “Barium Enema” which is basically a screwdriver but with Metamucil and suggests consuming it quickly before the laxative congeals in the glass. Ewww.)
So I guess if you’re talking “amounts necessary for overdose”, probably 3 drops won’t kill you.
