visiting Toronto

Looks like for my new job (yea!) they’ll be sending me to visit our client, who is in Mississauga.

I’ve never been to Toronto so tell me, what should I see/do while I’m there? Where should I eat? I have no idea how long I’ll have, most likely only a day or two on my own. I’m also not sure exactly when I’ll be going, other than sometime before mid April. Most likely I will not have a car, so let’s keep this to stuff within the reach of public transportation.

I’m from NYC, so big cities are A-OK and I have no problem using subways and busses. Museums are great, I love window shopping and wandering in and out of interesting stores, love neat architecture, and I am pretty adventurous food-wise.

Hit me with you ideas!

Museum, Art Gallery, definitely! You can subway to both. Unless you’re staying in Mississauga. Cause that will really make a difference. Do you know yet where you’ll stay?

If you do the CN tower, skip the other lines and just go to the restaurant. Relax and have some over priced cake and tea. You will save yourself tons of time spent standing in lines and crowds and have a much more pleasant, and not significantly more expensive, time.

Nope, not sure. I can certainly relocate though, since I imagine I’ll have to pay for my hotel on the extra nights I choose to stay.

If you have time, and the weather is nice, travel about 20 minutes north to the Beaches and Scarborough Bluffs…

On one day, you could go shopping in Kensington Market, have something to eat in Chinatown and visit the Art Gallery of Ontario; those are all pretty close to each other.

Any interest in the shoe museum?

If you like museums, the Royal Ontario Museum is top-notch.
